This creature was hand cast using the sand casting method from a vintage bead from my collection. Completely sterling silver, they're sturdy yet delicate. They're submerged in patina then buffed to bring out the detail + ruggedness. The necklace weighs about an ounce and sits on an 18" chain, either beaded or rolo.

Sand casting, the method used for this piece, is a beautiful, imperfect, and time intensive process that allows for differences in each cast--a mold can be used only once, so each acorn is singular in form, and rare in expression.
